Anyway, right now I am doing my best to get my first novel out into the world, waiting on an editing service to finish up with editing my synopsis and query letter. And then I will be sending it out to agents for awhile. My first novel is entitled "The Great American", here's a little tagline about it : John Miller Kerek is trying to outrun his past, but it continues to chase after him in the form of a high female body count.
It's about a professional baseball player that is a serial killer, but it focuses more on how he became that way, and the lives of his parents before he made it into the world. I started it in 2005, and was not aware of Jeff Lindsay's Dexter book series, although, I did sort of come up with the idea of it from James Patterson's Hide & Seek. Although I loved the book, I sort of wanted more, I wanted to know more about one of the prominent character's parents, more about his childhood, which there were only glimpses of, and although that character wasn't a serial killer he was a disturbed individual.
Hide & Seek shaped my mind very early on, I read it when I was 13 I believe, and have continued to read it time and again now that I'm the reverse of that age. Can't bring myself to type my age, so that'll have to suffice for now :) I've also created a writer's facebook group where we exchange information on writing, articles we find, conferences, beta reader exchanges, and everything in between. If you'd like to join us we'd love to have you. https://www.facebook.com/groups/161136787410085/ I will keep you posted on the spreaker.com situation. If you are looking for new ways to establish yourself I would suggest trying to develop a podcast, some of them aren't very long at all, plenty of shows are only 3-5 minutes, but there are longer ones if you like to get chit-chat out of your system. Will try to post again soon. --Happy Blogging
Will leave you with a writerly quote I found today that almost made me cry:
The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to
keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how
badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the
people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.”

badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the
people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.”
